Charisma Boomwal, SLPA
Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)
Charisma is a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) who earned her Bachelor of Arts in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences from San Diego State University, graduating magna cum laude. She completed her clinical internship in a pediatric school-based setting in East Los Angeles, where she supported children with various speech, language, and communication needs.
Charisma's passion for speech-language pathology began through her close relationship with her cousin, who has autism and a mitochondrial disorder. Growing up alongside him and participating in his speech therapy sessions gave her an early appreciation for the many ways people communicate and the importance of meeting each child where they are.
Charisma enjoys working with children and adolescents across a wide range of ages and is committed to building trusting, meaningful relationships with the families she serves. She believes every child has something important to communicate and strives to create a supportive environment where they feel heard and encouraged as they grow in their confidence.
Outside of the clinic, Charisma enjoys writing, spending time with family and friends, supporting small local businesses, and volunteering in creative community spaces.
